The fabulous Taylor Dolan, our resident Costume Designer and Illustrator, along with members of her family created 14 grotesquely beautiful masks for our masquerade dancers in “Poor Thing” in Act 1 of Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street over 2 months.

As the overall visual concept of our production was “Macabre Victorian Decay”, Taylor followed this aesthethic to create these exaggerated and deformed animalistic masks to brings us right into a terrifying flashback scene filled with dancers as we learn the tale of what happened to Sweeney Todd’s wife after he was deported 15 years prior as told by Mrs. Lovett.
